Avila, second stage of the meeting
On Sunday August 1, we left Caleruega and the lands where Dominic grew up, and journeyed to those of St. Teresa of Avila.
The whole city is celebrating the 500th anniversary of the birth of “la santa” as the townspeople call her. Three choices were available this morning to help us participate in the jubilee: we could walk along the ramparts of the town, or discover the places that were important in Teresa’s life, or visit the monastery of the Incarnation.
Here are a few snapshots of the ramparts—and of the sisters on them.
Follow-up of snapshots of the convent of the Embodiment or ste Thérèse crossed 27 years of her life before leaving him to base San José, 1st convent of the Refoundation.
«Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices. »
St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
